This sandy peninsula of Marin merriment combines nicely with trips to nearby Bolinas, Muir Woods and Mt Tamalpais - with Point Reyes only a bit further.

In reality, shark attacks on humans are rare and swimmers are advised to watch for Oscar-less rip tides instead. Just the same, if Mr Spielberg shows up, why not get some lunch? :)
