Sunny to San Francisco's cloudy Sausalito sits just across the Golden Gate Bridge, and offers a host of eateries and art galleries - in addition to ferry service, kayak rental and great bicycling in the surrounding areas. The Cavallo Point bar & restaurant offer top-notch edibles, at a price :)

Otherwise, Sausalito often provides a launching or landing pad to other adventures on the Golden Gate Bridge, Angel Island, in the Marin Headlands or further north - Mt Tam, Napa, Stinson Beach, Point Reyes (... Tourist Club?!) among others.
