Sutro Project / Parrots of Telegraph Hill
Frequently flying in flock formation and often heard before seen, these colorful squawkers inspired a well-regarded film ("The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill") and otherwise appear well-adapted in this city of transplants.
Usually preferring the bay-side territory from the Presidio all the way to the Embarcadero (past Telegraph Hill) they can sometimes be spotted farther west/inland - I've spotted contingents over Kite Hill Park in the Castro.
