Sutro Project / Castro Theater
An organist plays the pipes (a Wurlitzer) before most shows at this Spanish Colonial delight. Most runs are classic or independent films.
Located in the heart of the Castro - popular shows sell out despite the 1,600 person capacity. There is often a line to get seats as well.
Tickets are cash only, don't get caught with your pants down :)
Those seeking a bit more of Castro history can check out America's (purportedly) first gay bar with clear windows, Twin Peaks Tavern. Nearby Hot Cookie bakes delicious cookies in all sizes and shapes (including genitalia), and may even post your photo on the wall :)
