Providing train service between San Francisco and San Jose down the middle of the Peninsula, the Caltrain is the cleanest and fastest form of public transportation in the bay area.
Baby Bullet service - offered during commute hours - is faster than driving. Bicycles are allowed until the bike car fills up (frequently during commute hours). Alcohol is permitted until 9pm.
Tickets must be purchased before boarding. If the machine isn't working, board the train and talk to the conductor.
