Dave Eggers, author of "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius" (among others), founded "San Francisco's Only Independently Owned Pirate Supply Store" to creatively comply with the "retail or catering" leasing ordinance in his mission to help children read and write better. Adult writing workshops are also available.
